Local school children hear the real Easter story

Easter Experience 2007

The Easter Experience is an interactive portrayal of the Easter story which enables primary school children from across the borough to learn first-hand about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The play was written by Rosey King (Sutton Schools Christian Workers Trust primary schools worker), and in 2007 will be performed at three separate venues: Carshalton Methodist Church, North Cheam Baptist Church and Sutton Baptist Church.  Each week there will a different cast who, with the help of a Storyteller, will lead children through the events of Holy Week.

Every child who attends will take part in some way. They might wave palm leaves as Jesus rides into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, see him disrupt the market in the Temple, sit with the disciples at the Last Supper, attend Jesus’ trial, watch the crucifixion or experience joy and wonder at his resurrection.

The dates for the Easter Experience 2007 are:
5-9 March at Carshalton Methodist
19-23 March at North Cheam Baptist
26-29 March at Sutton Baptist

The schools are already booked but Rosey is still looking for actors and actresses. If you think you might be able to help please call Rosey on 020 8647 9669 or e-mail rosey@sscwt.org.uk As this involves working with children you may have to undergo a CRB check.

Last year 18 schools sent one of their year groups to a local venue for the Easter Experience – a total of 23 performances to 1300 children!
